From theory to practice: my journey as a Data Engineering Intern.

How I built an AI conversation agent as a Junior Data Engineer Intern at MultiMinds.

Starting with curiosity

When I joined MultiMinds as a Junior Data Engineer Intern, I didn’t know exactly what to expect, but I was curious and ready to learn. What I found was a team that values initiative, creativity, and collaboration. From day one, I was encouraged to dive into a real project and contribute meaningfully. That trust and openness made a big difference in how I approached the work.

Creating something meaningful with AI

Over five weeks, I worked on developing a smart chat interface for the MultiMinds website. The goal? Build a digital assistant that could help visitors find answers, access relevant content, and complete surveys, all through natural conversation.

I contributed to several parts of the project:

  • Structuring and preparing website content

  • Shaping how the assistant responds to questions

  • Designing features that make the chat experience more interactive and helpful

It was a great opportunity to apply what I’ve learned in my studies and see how those skills come to life in a professional setting.

Growing through challenges

Like any meaningful project, there were moments of uncertainty. I encountered new tools, unfamiliar concepts, and technical decisions that required careful thought. But those challenges were also the most rewarding parts of the experience. With support from the team and a bit of trial and error, I learned to navigate complexity and build confidence in my abilities.

Looking back, and ahead

This experience gave me more than just technical skills. It taught me how to work in a team, how to think from a user’s perspective, and how to turn ideas into working solutions. I’m grateful to MultiMinds for the opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking project and for the trust they placed in me.

As I continue my journey in data engineering, I’ll carry these lessons with me, and I’m excited to see where they lead next.
